Houndstooth Bindles plays a rambunctious type of hillbilly/folk music. Consisting of banjo, mandolin, fiddle, guitar, bass, and drums, their music is similar to bluegrass, but stylistically drawn more from folk singers like Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan, with added punk tempos and aesthetic. The band features three song-writers and shows consist of almost entirely original songs, with a few old-timey covers thrown in for good measure. Songs are often thick with vocal harmony, and no one member of the band is the traditional frontman; instead the lead singer changes depending on the song. Houndstooth Bindles released their self-titled, debut EP in January, 2012.

Press:
"The musicians of Houndstooth Bindles straddle two worlds: They create folksy, rollicking music amid life in central Ohio neighborhoods such as Clintonville and Old Oaks." Columbus Dispatch, Local Limelight.

"Raucous energy runs rampant through these six tracks of twang with a bang." Columbus Alive, Preview

"The gem on the EP is Graveyard Grass. Virginia sings the story of love lost in a seemingly careless and unapologetic manner that somehow makes the loss sting just that much more. The song reads like it was written on a 1920’s riverboat and hidden away until the Bindles’ got a hold of it." The Hot 17, EP Review.
